Playing "open play" pickleball requires a certain level of etiquette to ensure that everyone has a positive experience on the court. Here are some tips for playing with experienced and beginner players.
Be Patient
Experienced players- Remember that beginners "newbies" are still learning the game,
Beginner players- Don't get frustrated when you make mistakes on the court. Every player has made the same mistakes when learning to play pickleball.
Encourage
Experienced players-Offer words of encouragement to help boost confidence, especially when new players show improvement.
Beginner players- Don't be afraid to ask questions! Give positive feedback to the experienced players for taking time to help you improve your game.
Adapt your game
Experienced players- Adjust your playing style to match the skill level of the beginner by slowing down the pace of the game.
Beginner players- Know the rules of pickleball and court etiquette before you play with experienced players.
Keep it fun! Remember that the main goal of "open play" is to make it enjoyable for everyone, regardless of your skill level.
